Mihara Yasuhiro, a Japanese designer, started his career in footwear while studying at Tama Art University, where he crafted his first shoe collection as a creative experiment. This led to a pivotal collaboration with Puma in 1999, which redefined sneaker culture by merging avant-garde design with practical wearability. Yasuhiro founded his brand, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro, in 1997, known for its unconventional silhouettes and experimental use of materials. His designs often deconstruct classic motifs, offering a unique, artful approach to fashion.
This reconstructed jacket showcased in Look 14 of the Spring/Summer 2006 collection, features a corduroy outer shell with a removable quilted lining, raw edges, and biker-style zipper details throughout.
